Sauvignon Spritz

Sauvignon Blanc is a grape that offers wonderful citrus characters and an herbaceous character that we love in a wine glass, so why not use it as a constituent in a cocktail?  If you are looking for a lighter lower alcohol cocktail we have for you today the Sauvignon Spritz. It is a take on the Aperol Spritz but swaps out the Prosecco for Sauvignon Blanc and adds in a bit of grapefruit soda for zing. We recommend using New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc for its pronounced grapefruit-citrus flavors but any Sauvignon Blanc you have around will do. It is absolutely refreshing and a great summer sipper. 

Sauvignon Spritz

In a red wine goblet filled with ice add:

• 4 Ounces New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc
• 1 Ounce Fever Tree Grapefruit Soda
• ½ Ounce Aperol

Stir ingredients together and top the glass off with club soda.  Garnish with a wedge of pink grapefruit (optional).
