The Old Man Cocktail Wed, Jan 22, 25 | cocktail recipes Today’s cocktail is the fusion of two great classics. It all started one evening when we were making an Old Fashioned and accidentally grabbed the sweet vermouth bottle. The result is a drink we call “The Old Man”. The moniker for the drink is appropriate combining the names of both drinks and also acknowledging the “senior moment” which became the mother of this invention. The drink is as follows: The Old Man In a Large Rocks Glass Add: 1 Slice of Orange 1 Maraschino Cherry (don’t skim buy Luxardo) 1 Sugar Cube Doused in Angostura Bitters 2 Ounces of Well Bred Rye (or Bourbon if you prefer) Muddle the whole together Fill the Glass with Crushed Ice Add ½ Ounce of Punt e Mes Sweet Vermouth Give a Gentle Stir. Splash with Club Soda. Enjoy! By Girish Patel Tags: orange bourbon rye angostura bitters sugar cube maraschino club soda sweet vermouth
