The Espresso Martini has become a popular favorite among contemporary imbibers and while surfing the web for recipes we came across a variation called, “La Vive”. Coming to us from Culver City’s Bar Bohemian and bartender A.C. Baker, this drink stood out above the others. One of its distinctive features is the use of Mezcal as a base instead of Vodka. The smokey nature of Mezcal lends itself beautifully to the rich espresso and subtle nuttiness from the inclusion of Orgeat syrup in the mix. If you like Espresso Martini’s, you are going to LOVE La Vive! Salut!
