Fruitcake Cocktail

It is the Christmas season and there is nothing more dreaded than receiving a fruitcake from some old auntie in the family.  This sticky, sweet cake tends to be dry and dense but we broke down the flavors in this weighty confection and used them to create what we call, The Fruitcake Cocktail?  Here we steep some dried and fresh fruits in a bit of rum for a delightfully festive drinkable version of the Fruitcake.

Fruitcake Cocktail

In a shaker glass with no ice add:
 

• 1 ½ Ounces Light Rum
• 4 Dried Cranberries
• 4 Raisins
• 2 Luxardo Cherries
• 1 Small Orange Slice

Let steep for 5 minutes then add ice and:

• ½ Ounce Amaretto
• ¼ Ounce St Elizabeth’s Allspice Dram
• 2 Ounces of Cranberry Juice

Shake and pour everything (ice and all) into on Old Fashioned Glass.  Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
