Elderflower liqueurs have become extremely popular in the cocktail community over the past few years. They have a delightful floral aroma and sweet-tart nature that marries beautifully to white spirits. Originating in Europe, Elderflower Cordials were traditionally offered mixed in still or sparkling water as refreshing tall drinks, sans-alcohol. Over time brands such as St. Germain added alcohol to their cordials transforming them into low proof liqueurs for sipping or mixing in cocktails. Today we share with you the English Garden Cocktail. It has the feel of a traditional English Cordial but with a bit of proof to back it up. The drink can be varied by adding different garden accents… a bit of thyme here, a sprig of rosemary there, whatever is at hand and whatever strikes your fancy. It is delightful to enjoy on a sunny day, al fresco. Cheers!
