When it comes to mixed drinks, Bourbon and Rye often overshadow Irish whiskey which is more likely to be imbibed neat or with minor embellishment. Yet the versatility and range of flavors in blended Irish Whiskey make it a natural for mixing. The Dubliner cocktail is an Irish Manhattan of sorts with the addition of Grand Marnier. The orange character from the Grand Marnier adds a layer of complexity and hint of sweetness that rounds the proof of the spirit. So reach past those bottles of Bourbon, dust off that Irish whiskey you got for Saint Patrick’s Day and give the Dubliner a try. Sláinte!
