We love cardamom for its spicy aromatic qualities and the unique peppery edge it adds to cocktails. Today we infuse it into one of our favorite summer drinks, the Daiquiri. By replacing the sugar in the Daiquiri with a Cardamom simple syrup the drink is transformed adding a cool, refreshing layer of flavors to the classic. It is a perfect cocktail for hot summer days and will take the edge off the humidity in a most pleasant way.
Cardamom Daquiri In a shaker glass filled with ice add:
Shake until shaker steel is frozen over. Strain into a Chilled Martini Saucer. Top with 1 dash of Fee Brother’s Cardamom Bitters (optional). Garnish with a Lime Wedge or Twist.
*Cardamom Simple Syrup In a Saucepan Add:
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Allow to cool them pour everything into a mason jar, seal and put in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours. Strain Cardamom Pods and store the syrup in the refrigerator for 7-10 days. Cardamom Simple Syrup is also good in coffee and makes a spicy exotic soda for the kids when mixed with club soda. |
